小さな精霊たちが姿を現し、その訪れを静かに告げる。
『Heralds of the Seasons』は、
そんな遠い国に伝わる季節の精霊たちを描くドローイングシリーズとして描きました。
「Lilium longiflorum」
各国に根付く、アニミズム信仰的な概念が私はとても好きです。
自然豊かな土地で生まれ育ったこともありますが、自然界のあらゆるものに
生命の躍動を感じます。
「Hydrangea macrophylla」
特に花には、昔から花の精霊がいて、その精霊が花を美しく咲かせている。
そんなイメージがありました。
また、バレエ「くるみ割り人形」に登場する「雪の精の踊り（ワルツ）」のイメージも相俟って、
踊り子のような姿をしている。
そんなイメージがあります。
「Helleborus」
Heralds of the Seasonsシリーズは、
季節の訪れをそっと教えてくれる小さな精霊たちを想像して描くシリーズです。
精霊たちは軽やかに舞い、次に訪れる季節を教えてくれます。
「Hyacinthus orientalis」
ドローイングは細く、繊細な線で軽やかに仕上げています。
古い銅版画で描く、物語の挿絵のような雰囲気です。
一部、金彩を施しているので飾った時、手に持った時、角度によってきらりと煌めきます。
「Helianthus annuus」
しなやかな精霊の描写もぜひ一緒に楽しんでいただければ幸いです。
この作品が、それぞれの記憶や物語と静かに重なれば嬉しく思います。
At the changing of the seasons, little spirits appear to quietly announce their arrival.
Heralds of the Seasons is a drawing series depicting these seasonal spirits passed down in stories from distant lands.
“Lilium longiflorum”
I have always been deeply drawn to the concepts of animism rooted in cultures around the world.
Perhaps because I was born and raised in a place rich in nature, I feel the vibrant pulse of life in everything within the natural world.
“Hydrangea macrophylla”
Flowers, in particular, have always held a special image for me—that a flower spirit resides within them, making them bloom so beautifully. Combined with imagery like the “Waltz of the Snowflakes” from the ballet The Nutcracker, I imagine them taking the form of graceful dancers.
“Helleborus”
The Heralds of the Seasons series imagines these small spirits softly heralding the coming of a new season.
They dance lightly, letting us know which season will visit next.
“Hyacinthus orientalis”
These drawings are finished with delicate, fine lines to evoke a sense of lightness, reminiscent of storybook illustrations found in old copperplate engravings.
Accentuated with gold paint in select areas, they catch the light with a gentle shimmer as you view or hold them from different angles.
“Helianthus annuus”
